Procedure for Obtaining a Visa

Visas can be applied for in person or by post at the High Commission of India based in the country from where the candidate intends to depart for India.

You need to apply for a CONFERENCE VISA to attend SciDataCon 2014:

Letter of Invitation

Participants requiring a formal letter of invitation may request such a letter as part of the . Invitation letters can be obtained even before completeting payment. It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help delegates to raise funds or to obtain a visa and does not imply a commitment from the conference organizers to provide any financial support.

Requirements for Visa

Generally the following documents are required for obtaining Indian Visa. However, the requirement may vary from country to country.

• Original passport valid for at least 6 months
• Visa fee
• Two passport size photographs
• Supporting documents, as per the guidelines of the embassy
• Invitation letter from The Executive Director, INSA on behalf of host organization
• Duly completed application form

Visa for PIOs and NRIs

Persons of Indian Origins (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who possess either OCI (Overseas Indian Citizenship) or PIO card don’t need an Indian visa as OCI and PIO cards provide a multi-purpose lifelong visa for visiting India. However, those NRIs and PIOs who don’t have OCI or PIO card can apply for and get Indian visa through the procedure mentioned above.

Applicants from China as well as those from Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Iran, Sudan and foreigners of Pakistani origin, as well as stateless persons should provide the details in the format below 3-4 months prior to the conference at our e mail ID .
