Conference Venue
The Conference will be held at the Convention Centre of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India (see Conference Map below)
Jawaharlal Nehru University started functioning in the year 1971 with ambitious academic plans of introducing interdisciplinary teaching and research. It set up a number of Schools of study encompassing a range of areas providing unprecedented academic opportunities for students and faculty. The University moved to the current campus of 1000 acres in phases starting from mid 1970s. The basic principles of the University are based on Nehruvian philosophy of national integration, social justice, secularism, the democratic way of life, international understanding and scientific approach to the problems of society. The land where the campus exists was once a rugged terrain of the Aravali hill range, but now is lush green with high degree of biodiversity. Parts of it host dense forests, sustaining a large population of birds and some forms of wild life. It is truly an oasis in the middle of an urban jungle.
The Convention Centre of the University has come up recently in order to provide a place for academic activities. It is located at a strategic distance from the academic complex allowing interaction, but not interference. The surroundings, a dense forest in the front and a big green lawn at the back allows deliberation to take place in serene atmosphere. The convention centre has eight different auditoriums, lecture rooms and committee rooms for hosting conferences and meetings of different sizes and formats. The Centre also has lounges, secretariat rooms etc for facilitating conferences and conventions. The facilities are adequate to arrange a big convention with multiple parallel sessions.
